Spiz depicts the wrongful conviction of Dean Gillispie who served 20 years in Pr*son for crimes he did not commit. While incarcerated, Gillispie began creating sculptures as a way to cope. After his conviction was overturned he has become a celebrated artist exhibiting his work nationwide at esteemed galleries such as MOMA. Spiz examines the causes and effects of wrongfully convicting American citizens and the lasting impact it has on families. BADGES ACCEPTED
