Art Lecture and Hands On Art DemonstrationPlease join us for Creative Bookbinding with Miz Rivka - She is a California State Clear Credentialed Art Educational Instructor.
Be prepared to learn:
The history, process, production, cultural aspects, critique & criticism, aesthetic valuing and technological components on the subject.
Rivka will discuss and share a full demonstration on how to get started with step by step instructions to create and personalize your bookbinding experiences, using your own artwork and your favorite materials, papers and embellishments.
Itinerary:
• Aspects of the modern book: with introduction by Sophie and Miz Rivka
• How did bookbinding start and take hold?
• Anatomy of a standard book
• Making paper choices based on: availability, reclaimed materials, color, value, line, texture and shape
• How to make measurements and cuts with accuracy and perfection using standard art box tools
• Assemblage and demonstration process of creating soft and hardbound book with single and multi-signature pages
