What is a Zine? Zines are simply small, self-published magazines created by kids and grown-ups alike. While popular today, Zines have been around since the early 1900s Harlem Renaissance movement. The sci-fi fans of the 1930s, beat writers in the 1940s and 50s, 1970s punks, and 1990s Riot Grrrls all shared their interests and messages and created community via zines.
In this class, we’ll briefly learn about the history of zines, the different kinds of zines, and of course, we’ll be making zines of our own! No experience is needed. Our focus is on creativity, self expression, and collaboration. All supplies are provided.
This class is open to students age 7 - 11.
Class Cancellation Policy
Class registrations are non-refundable and cannot be transferred to a later date or different class.
Classes cancelled by Craft Habit WILL be refunded in full.
