Petals & Thorns: One-Day Spoken Word Intensive is a full-day creative experience for youth (ages 11–17), offered through Petals & Thorns Holistic Services (PATHS).

Led by La Toya A. Hampton, MSW (The Poet Lady Rose), this immersive workshop guides students from blank page to live performance—all in one day.

• Learn the foundations of spoken word poetry
• Write and refine their own original poem
• Receive guided coaching and feedback
• Build confidence in voice and delivery
• Practice performance in a supportive environment

Students will perform their original work in a live showcase at 6:00 PM
Parents and guardians are invited.

Time: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Drop-off begins: 10:30 AM

Ages: 11–17
Capacity: Limited to 12 students

• A completed original poem
• A live performance experience
• A video recording of their performance
• A printed copy of their poem
• Inclusion in a post-workshop mini-zine

This experience is offered on a sliding scale to support accessibility:

• $125 — Community Rate (limited spots)
• $155 — Standard Rate
• $195 — Supporter Rate (helps support access for others)
