FREE Workshop Scheduled for Friday, October 16th!!!
Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) is an early intervention, public education program. It teaches adults how to recognize the signs and symptoms of potential mental health challenges in youth.
Participants learn how to listen non-judgmentally, provide reassurance, and connect youth to appropriate professional support and services.
This 6.5-hour workshop is offered three times per year and focuses on recognizing common signs and symptoms of mental health challenges that may impact youth, applying the YMHFA action plan (ALGEE) when a youth shows signs of a mental health or substance use challenge, responding appropriately in crisis and non-crisis situations involving youth, and understanding the importance of self-care after providing mental health first aid.
This free YMHFA workshop will be held this Friday, June 5th at The Well, 210 James Garner Ave., Norman, OK 73069.
