About this Event
Youth Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance abuse challenges among children and adolescents ages 12-18. We welcome school staff, coaches, youth leaders, parents, caregivers, community members and/or any adult who works with youth to attend.
Topics Covered:
- Common signs/symptoms of mental health challenges in this age group, including anxiety, depression, eating disorders and ADHD
- Substance use challenges
- How to interact with a child or adolescent in crisis
- How to connect our youth with help
- Expanded content on trauma, self-care, and the impacts of social media and bullying
When:
PART 1: 2-hour self paced online course
PART 2: In-person class Friday, October 18, 2024, 9:00 am-3:00 pm
Cost: $35 per participant, which covers the cost of the training manual and participant guide for you to keep, as well as a lite lunch during in-person class.
Location: Sessions will be held in at the Bellin Health Campus on Libal St. in Green Bay.
This is an 8-hour blended learning format training. The online module must be completed prior to the in-person training, and participation at both the online and in-person portion is required to be certified.
There is a limit of 30 participants. A minimum of 15 participants need to be registered by October 4th to hold the training. Registration will close on October 10th to allow time for the online modules prior to the October 18th class.
