About this Event
After completion of online modules, we welcome you to The Woodward School for Youth Mental Health First Aid Training presented by National Council for Mental Wellbeing!
This training will teach you how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among children and adolsences ages 12-18.
Specifically, this training will cover:
- Common signs and symptoms of mental health challenges in youth including, anxiety, depression, eating disorders and attention decifict hyperactive disorder (ADHD).
- Common signs and symptoms of substsance use challenges.
- How to interact with a child or adolescent in crisis.
- How to connect youth with help.
- Expanded content on trauma, substance use, self care, and the impact of social media & bullying.
Upon completion, participants will receive a Mental Health First Aid Certificate which is valid for 3-years.
Cost of admission covers refreshments, lunch and Annie's Kindness Blankets activity. Remaining proceeds will be donated to suicide awareness & prevention.
