About this Event
YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID.
Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) teaches adults who work with youth how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among children and adolescents aged 12-18.
The course:
- Introduces common mental health challenges for youth
- Reviews typical adolescent development
- Teaches a 5-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis
BILINGUAL ENVIRONMENT: ENGLISH AND SPANISH
This training will be conducted in English with live Spanish interpretation. Participants may speak in either English or Spanish, and interpretation will be provided in both directions to support full participation.
LIMITED SPOTS AVAILABLE.
Pre-registration is required.

PRIMEROS AUXILIOS PARA LA SALUD MENTAL EN JÓVENES
Primeros Auxilios para la Salud Mental en Jóvenes (YMHFA) enseña a los adultos que trabajan con jóvenes cómo identificar, entender y responder a señales de problemas de salud mental y consumo de sustancias en niños y adolescentes de 12 a 18 años.
El curso:
- Presenta problemas comunes de salud mental en los jóvenes
- Repasa el desarrollo típico de los adolescentes
- Enseña un plan de acción de 5 pasos para ayudar a jóvenes en situaciones de crisis y también fuera de crisis
AMBIENTE BILINGÜE: INGLÉS Y ESPAÑOL
Esta capacitación será presentada en inglés con interpretación en vivo al español. Los participantes pueden hablar en inglés o en español, y habrá interpretación en ambos idiomas para apoyar la participación completa de todos.
