YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID

This course will focus on:

The Youth Mental Health First Aid course teaches first aid skills for adults working with young people to recognise and give initial help when adolescents are experiencing mental health problems, in a mental health crisis situation, or in the early stages of a mental illness.

This 14 hour course will cover mental health first aid in both crisis and non-crisis situations and will include such topics as adolescent development, eating disorders, depression, anxiety, psychosis, substance misuse and non-suicidal self-injury.

The course will be delivered by Clinicians from Eastern Health, who are registered mental health first aid instructors. The instructors deliver the Mental Health First Aid Australia accredited course. All attendees are registered and receive their accredited certificates from MHFA Australia.

Target Audience: Staff working in a range of settings including education, health and child and family services

Cost: $300 (exclusive of booking fee)
