Make sure to register now for a Youth Mental Health First Aid Certification Training taking place at the Bay-Arenac ISD on March 14 from 9am-2pm because seats are filling up fast!This free certification training is limited to adults who work with youth ages 12-18 years old in Bay County and each training is limited to a maximum of 30 participants.
Example participants include parents, school staff, coaches, camp counselors, youth group leaders, or any adults who work with youth.
The training covers common signs/symptoms of mental health challenges, illnesses and substance use, how to interact with a person in crisis, how to connect the person with help, and expanded content on trauma, addiction and self-care.
First Aiders will complete a 2-hour, self-paced online course, and then participate in a 4.5 hour, in-person, instructor-led class which includes a 30-minute lunch.
