We are excited for the up coming youth league. This is a free 8 week Thursday night program for kids under the age of 18 to come learn how to shot trap. Each week we supply 1 round a trap, 1 box of 12 or 20 gauge shells, youth and adult model 12 and 20 gauge shot guns for use, and coaching for free. Orientation is required so set your calendars and get your kids signed up during this orientation meeting. We will not be accepting new kids that have not gone through orientation during this meeting or orientation on week 1. No new walk ins after the program has started as this is a structured league. The coaches will make sure that the kids can safely operate the firearm to ensure safety for everyone.Minimum age is up to the parents, but the new kids still have to test fire a shotgun on orientation night and talk with instructors to make sure that they are ready to safely shoot that gun 25 times in a 15 minute window.
To fund this program the ECR&G collects spent hulls (shotgun shells) from our shoots, sorts them by brand, and then sells them. We ask that the families and kids help out and sort hulls for some time each night during youth league that they can to help fund the program. 100% of hulls sales go directly to the youth program and all work is done by volunteers.
The youth program is also part of the Eau Claire Rod and Gun Foundation and a 501c3. Any donations are tax deductible!
