About this Event
OXIE Youth Innovation Day: Edinburgh
19th June 2026 | 1:00pm – 4:00pm | National Robotarium, Edinburgh
The Dawn of AI is a YA sci-fi novel set in a fully automated future — partly inspired by the technology inside the National Robotarium. On 19th June, we're bringing the book to life.
Students will get to explore the real robots and innovations that inspired the story, meet the author, and — most excitingly — have a say in how the novel ends.
Will artificial superintelligence be created or destroyed? That's partly up to them.
Every attending student will have the opportunity to receive a copy of the pre-released novel in advance of the event.
Learn more about the novel here: www.oxie.org.uk/the-dawn-of-ai
What to Expect
From 1:00pm – 4:00pm, students will:
- Tour the National Robotarium
- Encounter real robots and AI technology straight from the pages of the book
- They'll meet author Bryanna Bone and ask her questions
- Take part in a closing ceremony where their voices help shape the ending of The Dawn of AI.
