Arvada Fire's Youth Fire Academy (YFA) consist of three consecutive half-days filled with hands-on activities, demonstrations, and team challenges designed to give youth a safe and exciting introduction to the world of firefighting and emergency services.This educational camp is free and for youth between the ages of 11 and 14 years old. This year, YFA will be held from June 9-11 between 8 a.m. and noon each day at the Training Center. Registration is now open and space is limited.
Throughout the academy, participants will work alongside firefighters and learn about the tools, equipment, and techniques used during emergencies. The program is designed to be both educational and fun, allowing youth to experience the physical and problem-solving aspects of the fire service in an encouraging and supportive environment. In addition to learning about firefighting, the Youth Fire Academy helps instill many of the core values of the fire service, including teamwork, courage, leadership, communication, and helping others in times of need.
