About this Event

Skills Provided for at Risk Kids is a Nonprofit organization that believes that acommunity is best when it comes together to recognize the problem and find positivesolutions concerning at risk youth. Troubled youth need positive guidance,reinforcement, and a change of scenery can also help. S.P.A.R.K., is equipped withthoughtful supportive staff and volunteers to help the organization succeed for both thelongevity of the community for the youth. The organization mentorsat risk youth between ages 10 -18 years of age to help them develop a skill set in thevarious fields of Electricians, Plumbers, HVAC Service Technicians. Each group ofyouth will receive mentorship from licensed Electricians, Plumbers, and HVAC ServiceTechnicians. Each mentor is designated to meet each month with their group ofmentees. Mentees will learn how to properly read a ruler, measuring tape, build withtools and learn how safety is very important in both the class environment and on site.


Ujimaa Medics is a Black health collective that trains community members to protect our lives by spreading life-saving emergency first response skills. We promote community care to build self-determination, resilience and long-term wellness in our neighborhoods.


Here is a summary of what we'll be going over in the workshop. The goal is for participants to have multiple ways to respond to a shooting where they do not have medical supplies:
