About this Event
Youth Civic Leadership Summit: From Voice to Action
Hosted by Mikva Challenge, the DC State Board of Education (SBOE), the Office of the Student Advocate (OSA), and Education Trust (Ed Trust), the Youth Civic Leadership Summit brings together young leaders, civic partners, and decision-makers to highlight youth-led civics projects and advance solutions that support safer, stronger school communities.
If you are a DC middle or high schooler with ideas on how to improve school and safety supports for students, we want you to attend!
During the event, youth will connect with their peers, share how they have taken informed civic action, and build leadership and advocacy skills. Participants will collaborate to refine and finalize their top 3–5 recommendations on school and safety supports.
The summit will conclude with youth presenting these priorities directly to decision makers, who will respond with concrete commitments on next steps, such as policy actions, resolutions, or legislation.
Join us for this day of inspiring youth-led change in the District!
