**YOUTH BRIDGE FESTIVAL**
Opportunity for U18s to learn bridge – a MindSport for all -
2.30pm, Sunday 21 June at Patcham Community Centre, Brighton
The Sussex County Contract Bridge Association (SCCBA) will be running its inaugural Youth Bridge Festival on Sunday 21 June at 2.30pm, at the Patcham Community Centre in Brighton. Bridge is a MindSport for all and this fun-filled event offers an opportunity for U18 players to experience the game.
The event will include a taster session **for anyone who’s never played before**, a master class with Ollie Powell (England International), a short tournament, plus cake and prizes.
Bridge is a strategic, trick-taking card game played by four players in two partnerships, using a standard 52-card deck. The game involves two main phases: an auction (or bidding) phase to establish a scoring target along with a card-play phase to achieve that target. It’s a MindSport (like chess), so includes strategy and mental challenges while incorporating teamwork and social interaction.
