About this Event
Ever wanted a love song written about your partner? A rock anthem about your crazy kids? An opera about your job?
Comedian and pianist Paul Green will write it. Live. Improvised. Tonight. About you.
Your Theme Song is a one-of-a-kind comedy experience where the audience is the show. Every guest puts their name in the bucket, and those drawn to the stage get interviewed, roasted, and immortalized in a fully original musical number — written on the spot, never repeated, completely unrehearsed.
Part stand-up comedy. Part live concert. Part talk show. All completely made up in the moment.
Paul Green has nearly 2,000 live performances across stand-up, musical theater, and improv comedy. Trained at iO West, Second City, and UCB, he has spent years turning strangers' lives into songs. He's getting better at it. The strangers keep getting weirder.
No drink minimum. No filler acts. Just Paul, a piano, a bucket of names, and whatever happens next.
Every show is completely different. Because every audience is.

FAQ
What actually happens at this show? No two shows are ever the same. Special guest comedians and musicians perform throughout the night, but the main event is unlike anything you've seen — audience volunteers come on stage, Paul learns about their life, and improvises a fully original song about them on the spot, in a music genre of their choosing. Country ballad about your divorce? Done. Death metal about your morning commute? Also done. The song exists for about three minutes and then it's gone forever — unless you were there.
Do I have to go on stage? Nope. Everyone puts their name in the bucket but only a handful of people get drawn. If you'd rather just watch, that's completely fine — the show is just as fun from the audience.
What if I get drawn and I'm nervous? That's honestly the best part. Paul is an experienced improviser and comedian — his whole job is to make you look good and feel comfortable. The more awkward the better, honestly.
What does VIP include? VIP ticket holders are guaranteed to be called on stage and have a song written about them. You also get front row seating and photos with Paul after the show.
Is there a drink minimum? No. Unlike most NYC comedy clubs there is no drink minimum. Your ticket price is your ticket price. Room 52 has beverages available for purchase but nothing is required.
How long is the show? Approximately 90 minutes with no intermission.
What's the venue like? Room 52 is an intimate, speakeasy-style venue in Midtown Manhattan. Think cozy, theatrical, and fun — not a big impersonal club. The small size is part of what makes this show work.
Is this show appropriate for all ages? This is an 18+ event. The comedy is adult but not explicit.
Can I request a specific type of song? Absolutely if you're called on stage, Paul will give you the option of what genre of music you wish to hear your life's theme song. Paul will do his best. :)
What if the show sells out? It will. Grab tickets early — especially Early Bird and VIP which are limited quantities.
