The Jr. NBA Development Circuit — officially branded as Jr. NBA Leagues — is the NBA and WNBA's national youth network, not just another weekend tournament.
It's the league's official participation program for boys and girls ages 6-14 that teaches fundamental skills and core values at the grassroots level to help grow and improve the youth basketball experience for all. The core values are simple and non-negotiable: teamwork, respect, determination, and community.
What makes it a "development circuit" instead of just rec ball:
• It's built with USA Basketball. The NBA developed age-appropriate rules and standards with USA Basketball to promote player health and wellness.
• Every coach gets the same free curriculum: 48 practice plans and 250+ instructional videos featuring NBA and WNBA players.
• The format follows the Jr. NBA model: skill development, 3v3 and 5v5 gameplay, with an emphasis on learning the game, player engagement, equal opportunity, and fun competition.
• Kids wear official NBA and WNBA-branded jerseys — it's the only youth program that does.
Scale matters too. It launched in November 2022 in 11 markets, and Sacramento was one of the first — right in your backyard. Nationally it's already over 50,000 participants, with a goal of reaching nearly a half million boys and girls annually by 2027. RCX Sports runs operations, so the experience is consistent city to city.
