About this Event
You’ve heard about AI.
You’ve probably used ChatGPT a few times. But you haven’t built anything with it for your actual business and you know you should.
This isn’t a lecture. This isn’t a demo. This is a 2.5-hour, done with you sprint where you’ll build a custom AI assistant trained on your own business information and walk out with it working on your laptop.
Imagine a digital team member who knows your products, speaks in your brand voice, and can answer your most common customer questions at 2am while you sleep. That’s what you’re building today.
In this session, you’ll take your business’s existing documents your FAQ page, your price list, your brochure, your menu and turn them into the foundation of an AI assistant that handles routine enquiries, drafts emails in your voice, and creates content that actually sounds like you.
You’ll also learn the guardrails: how to stop AI from inventing information, how to know when to keep a human in the loop, and how to share your assistant safely with staff. This session includes WA AI Hub’s governance framework so you can deploy AI responsibly from day one.
This session is platform agnostic. Whether you prefer ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini, the facilitator will guide you on the best fit for your business and budget. No technical experience required just a laptop and your business knowledge.
The WA AI Hub Catalyst Sessions are Perth’s only “done with you” AI workshops. You don’t sit and listen. You build. Every attendee leaves with a tangible, usable business tool not just inspiration.
This event is brought to you by the Western Australian AI Hub the state’s largest AI community with over 1,000 members and a mission to make AI accessible for every Western Australian business.
What You’ll Learn:
- The difference between using a general AI chatbot and creating a purpose-built AI assistant for your business
- How to write effective system instructions that define your assistant’s personality, knowledge, and boundaries
- How to upload your business documents as a knowledge base so your assistant gives accurate, brand-consistent answers
- How to test, troubleshoot, and improve your assistant using real customer scenarios
- The 5-point governance checklist for deploying AI responsibly with customer-facing interactions
What You’ll Build:
A fully functional custom AI assistant trained on your business data ready to use with customers, staff, or internally from tomorrow morning.
What to Bring:
- A laptop (fully charged) with a web browser
- A ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini account (free tier is fine setup instructions sent before the event)
- 2-3 business documents: your FAQ page, price list, product/service descriptions, or anything a new employee would need to learn about your business
- Your curiosity and your real business questions
