Socialization walk for the troubled and timid. We will start with finding calm then proceed with a calm walk working on passing each other and refining our handling. I will address what behaviours are presented and demonstrate how to take back control of the situation. This is your opportunity to ask a studying canine behaviourist(Your Human) for insights in a completely none judgemental environment. Everyone who has proceeded past the general puppy lessons is welcome. Will be the perfect environment to set and get an example of what is possible even with a troubled dog.‼️ Leave any questions you have for me on the event discussion(or DM) so I may consider an activity to address the behaviour and help you overcome. Will give an idea of what will be covered on the upcoming event.
Requirements:
1) Licensed With CRD (shouldn’t need to state it but just in case)
2) Collars Only, properly adjusted so not to slip off head, must have head control to clearly communicate to dog, you may use dual leash if needing to use harness for pulling.
3) Bring High Value Treats
4) Hi-Vis Vest (optional), easy to identify each other and let’s others know we are doing something not to be disturbed
5) 10 months old+, as a general rule of thumb you must be confident with the handling basics before my methods will be effective
Rule:
1) Maintain 6-10 feet from each other until otherwise instructed.
Goal:
We work towards a confident off leash group walk at Macaulay Point tackling the needed behaviours while teaching handling methods allowing your furry friends to thrive under your handling.
Cost: FREE
My public events in this group will always be free. This is my way of paying forward everything that has been given to me by finding this career in animal care starting in this very group. However, I will be looking for sponsorship and accepting donations so this event may grow into something the community can be proud of … “Hey you need to see that guy in Esquimalt” … “what guy?” … “Your Human!”
(PS this is not a puppy class, if you have interest in a puppy class please DM and I will consider when might be good for everyone)
