Your Body Knows the Way: An experiential journey through Julia Cameron's The Artist's WayFeb 2 - April 27, 2024 @ Mercury Project and The Yoga Collective at MBS
“CREATIVITY IS THE NATURAL ORDER OF LIFE.”
~ THE FIRST BASIC PRINCIPLE OF THE ARTIST’S WAY
For more than 25 years, millions of people have benefitted from working through Julia Cameron’s pioneering book on creativity recovery. Over the course of twelve weeks, you will excavate lost dreams and let new ones emerge as you connect to the creative core that is your birthright. The exercises in The Artist’s Way guide you through a dismantling of beliefs you have unconsciously committed to about yourself over the course of your life.
In this workshop series, we add powerful somatic tools accessible to any body — movement, breath work, meditation, subtle body energy — to strengthen the connection of mind to the heart of your creative self.
This course is NOT JUST FOR ARTISTS!
This course is for anyone who wants to recover a sense of wonder, feelings of possibility and abundance, and the confidence to pursue your dreams—whatever they are.

About Lesley Ramsey
Lesley Ramsey began practicing and studying yoga 25 years ago. For her, nothing works better to heal the scrapes and bruises of life and the traumas of living and participating in a society of systemic oppressions and social injustice. Yoga provides direct access to the fundamental creativity that is our birthright, that inspires art and all efforts to make the world a better place. Lesley worked for 17 years as a professional public interest advocate and nonprofit executive fighting for reproductive justice, public education, immigrant rights, fair trade, climate justice and civic participation statewide. She started teaching yoga full time in 2015. Lesley teaches and practices Yin Yoga and Vinyasa (Hatha) Yoga. She has been writing morning pages daily (a key tool of The Artist’s Way) for 10 years. She is writing a memoir and compiling a collection of haiku. Lesley manages the Yoga Studio and Art Gallery at MBS Fitness, and founded BeCause Yoga to bring the healing tools of yoga to artists, activists, educators and nonprofit professionals working to make our communities spaces of love, compassion, dignity, equity and respect. She writes grants for Musical Bridges Around the World and Anuja SA, the organizers of Diwali SA Festival of Lights.
