This October, Make Good Trouble Reno will take a closer look at the ballot candidates and questions that could shape Nevada's future.
About this Event

In addition to candidates for federal, state, and local offices, Washoe County voters will be asked to weigh in on several important ballot questions in the 2026 General Election.

At our October meeting, we’ll break down what each question proposes, what a YES or NO vote would mean, and what you should know before filling out your ballot.

State Question 6: Right to Abortion
Would amend the Nevada Constitution to establish an individual right to abortion until fetal viability and when necessary after viability to protect the health or life of the pregnant individual. Nevada voters initially approved the measure in 2024, and it must be approved a second time in 2026 to become part of the Nevada Constitution.

State Question 7: Voter Identification
Would amend the Nevada Constitution to require voters to present an approved form of photo identification when voting in person or provide certain identifying information when voting by mail. Nevada voters initially approved this measure in 2024, and it must be approved again in 2026 to become part of the Nevada Constitution.

Washoe County Question 1: Electric and Hybrid Vehicle Road Use Fee
This advisory, non-binding question asks Washoe County voters whether they support an annual road use fee on electric and hybrid passenger vehicles registered in the county. The fee would be intended to approximate what drivers of gasoline-powered vehicles contribute through local fuel taxes and would support transportation projects, including road maintenance, congestion reduction, air quality improvements, and safety.

Because the question is advisory, a YES vote would not automatically create the fee. Instead, the results would provide feedback that could be taken to the Nevada Legislature, which would need to authorize the county to impose such a fee.

Come learn what’s on your ballot, ask questions, and get the information you need to make your own informed decisions when you vote.

Our meetings are free, but we do pay a discounted room rental fee. If you’re able, contributing $5–$10 per meeting (cash or Venmo) helps us keep meeting in this wonderful space. Thank you for making it possible!
