Eulalia fell in love with George and thought she was going to marry him. Her parents married her off to an older, richer man called Master Page of Plymouth. She didn’t want to be the city merchant’s wife and it ended badly. She and George were executed for M**der.
Page of Plymouth has been told in different ways since the crime first shocked Elizabethan Plymouth but how would the story play out today? What if Eulalia and George had all the ways of communicating with each other and the world that we have now? Whether they’re in Elizabethan Plymouth or the Plymouth of today, could they find a way to be together that doesn’t end in M**der?
Join Joe Neville to explore the story through spoken word, poetry and other stimulants such as music. Ballads from the time imagine Eulalia and George telling their story in their own voice. How would they tell it today? You decide.
