About this Event
Do you love writing? Are you wondering how you can keep doing it after you’ve finished studying? Or are you wondering whether you want to study English or Creative Writing? Perhaps you’re considering a career as a features writer, journalist, editor in a publishing house, or marketing copywriter. We can help! Come to our Toolkit: we’ll give you a great insight into what these jobs or courses involve, from the people doing them.
Meeting in person, on Saturday 25th March at the Birmingham Midland Institute, Margaret Street, Birmingham (a short walk from New Street and Snow Hill stations), we will bring industry professionals to explain what they do, how they got into the job, what other options there are and who will answer your questions.
We will also offer individual feedback sessions if you’d like to discuss your options directly. These could cover commenting on your writing, suggestions of how to get your writing published, next steps to take, help deciding on university options. These will be limited in number, and will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. These will take place during the morning of the 25th March in the same venue. To book your slot, select the “Toolkit, plus feedback session” ticket type.
We can offer free places to those who meet the criteria found here.
