YOUNG TALENTED ITALIAN PIANIST ANDREA MOLTENI IN CONCERT

After a successful tour in China this summer, the young Italian talented pianist Andrea Molteni will be back to Australia for a series of piano recitals in Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra and Brisbane.

Alongside a program of well-known classics Molteni will perform as well a fantastic contemporary Italian work by Goffredo Petrassi (Toccata, 1933).

Join us for an enchanting piano performance organised by Istituto Italiano di Cultura in Sydney on Sunday 19th April at 3.30pm at the Music Workshop of Sydney Conservatorium of Music, 1 Conservatorium Rd, Sydney NSW 2000.

ANDREA MOLTENI

An exciting young Italian piano talent, the 27-year-old Andrea Molteni is building his international profile with regular appearances in the US, Australia, Japan, China, Singapore, UK, Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland and Turkey.

Three albums, recently released on Brilliant Classics and broadcast on France Musique, Germany’s MDR Kultur and Radio Classica in Italy, have received international praise: the complete piano works of Petrassi and Dallapiccola, a selection of Scarlatti sonatas, and Beethoven: Con alcune licenze, featuring Hammerklavier, Op. 110 and The Grosse Fuge, never before recorded in a piano solo version.

At the age of 15, Mr. Molteni received a special scholarship of Cercle Wagner Association in France, which allowed him to participate at the Bayreuth Festival celebrating the 200th anniversary of Richard Wagner, as well as to perform a series of concerts in Nice, Menton, Cannes, and Monte Carlo. In the same year, Mr. Molteni formed a youth orchestra, “L’Orchestra del Lago”, which he conducted and played with.

Since then he has played at the Esplanade in Singapore, Forbidden City Concert Hall in Beijing, Shanghai Oriental Art Center, Scriabin Museum in Moscow, Verbrugghen Hall of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music in Sydney, DiMenna Center in New York, Wiener Saal of the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, Concert Hall of Chopin Music University in Warsaw, Werner Recital Hall of the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, Teatro del Casinò in Sanremo, and other venues around the world.

He regularly performs with orchestras, such as the Orchestra Sinfonia di Sanremo, Orchestra Antonio Vivaldi, Orchestra Filarmonica Mihail Johra, and Orchestra of the Costa Rica University.
