About this Event

To celebrate the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) delegation visiting San Diego, the San Diego Diplomacy Council (SDDC) is hosting a Global Social Hour. This networking event offers a chance for our visiting Southeast Asian leaders to connect with the San Diego community, including SDDC Members, and representatives of the API Coalition and SD Historical Chinese Museum. Appetizers and drinks are included. Note that this event is outdoors, so be sure to dress appropriately.

This event is only open to San Diego Diplomacy Council members, and invited guests of the SD API Coalition and SD Historical Chinese Museum. Not a member, but interested in attending? SDDC membership operates on a pay-what-you-can system. We encourage you to become a member, for any amount!

The Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) Program is U.S. government’s signature program to strengthen leadership development and networking in Southeast Asia. Through a variety of programs and engagements, including U.S. educational and cultural exchanges, regional exchanges, and seed funding, YSEALI seeks to build the leadership capabilities of youth in the region, strengthen ties between the United States and Southeast Asia, and nurture an ASEAN community.

San Diego Asian Pacific Islander (API)Coalition is a group of San Diego API organizations that operates under the fiscal sponsorship of Pacific Arts Movement, a 501(c)3 organization.
Their mission is to facilitate conversations with API communities and advocate for representation of voices by amplifying and cultivating leadership, acting as a hub for API organizations to collaborate, and building a more inclusive and equitable San Diego.

The San Diego Chinese Historical Society and Museum’s mission is to educate and inspire by preserving and celebrating the richness of Chinese history, art, and culture, as well as the contributions of Chinese-Americans.
