Please Note: This workshop will take place during term time, not the school holidays, due to popular demand and to accommodate students from all schooling backgrounds.Thinkways together with the UWA Robotics Club bring inquisitive young students an exciting opportunity to explore the fundamentals of programming and robotics in the stunning university setting. Students will learn the basics of electronics and Arduino, a microcontroller board, by building a friendly robot that waves back at you. Arduino allows children to learn by doing. It encourages experimentation and exploration, which will introduce children to motors, sensors, circuits and help them understand complex concepts more tangibly. However, the workshop is not just about robotics. Those with artistic ambitions will enjoy bringing their robot to life by crafting and designing their final product which they can then take home.
Guided by a registered teacher specialising in gifted and talented education and members from the UWA Robotics Club, this workshop features small class sizes to ensure a personalised and engaging experience. It’s an excellent opportunity to get creative with robotics while learning and applying critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
