The Young Academy of Norway invites you to Young Researchers Night in Oslo! We invite you to an evening full of both exciting interdisciplinary research communication and discussions of the world of research… and the sea in various forms.
In part 1 of the event we will celebrate research in all its forms and shapes! We have invited four excellent young scholars from various fields to talk about their research. They come from completely different fields, but their research shares a focus on seas, flows, and tides in some way or another. Another thing the presenters share is a passion for research communication. You will hear about the universe after big bang, about migration over the sea, about communication and sea wildlife conservation, and of rituals associated with whales in East Asia.
In part 2 we will invite an interidsicplinary panel of young scholars to a “tell-all”, to reflect on how to navigate the treacherous seas of academic careers. We have invited four scholars that have made rather different career choices. There will be an option to ask questions and we will have some fun surprises on the way, yes this might even include a game or two where you can also participate (if you want!).
