Young Persons Astronomy Course

An exciting astronomy course for young persons aged 9 – 11 years old.
Note: all participants must be accompanied by a parent/adult.

Note: all participants must be accompanied by a parent/adult. The ticket is for all four sessions and covers both adult & child.

Week 1 (11th Sept) - How to view the sky – naked eye, binoculars & telescopes.

Week 2 (25th Sept) – Solar System – Sun, aurora, Planets, Moons, Comets & Meteors

Week 3 (9th Oct) – The Lifecycle of stars

Week 4 (23rd Oct) – Astrophotography – mobile phones to telescopes

The course aims to cover topics not normally dealt with in school.

Participants will also be offered a free visit to the BAS observatory to look at the sky through some large telescopes.
