Founded in 1992, the Young Eagles program has dedicated more than 30 years to giving youth ages 8–17 their first free ride in an airplane. It’s the only program of its kind, with the sole mission to introduce and inspire kids in the world of aviation. Local EAA Chapter 846 will be holding a Young Eagles Day event on June 20, from 9 am-2 pm at Medina Municipal Airport. Each child will attend a short ground school, followed by a free airplane ride with a qualified pilot. Volunteers give their time and airplanes to provide free airplane rides to young people ages 8-17. A parent or guardian must be present. Preregistration is required at www.eaachapters.org
