Veteran journalist and private investigator Andy Thibault teaches journalism and communication. Andy was a research consultant for the HBO series Allen V Farrow and was credited with helping to free a woman unjustly imprisoned for first degree M**der. The Connecticut Council for Freedom of Information honored Thibault with the Stephen A. Collins Memorial Freedom of Information Award for “his many contributions to the cause of open and accountable government and a free and vigorous press in Connecticut.” Andy’s column Cool Justice ran in the Connecticut Law Tribune. Thibault covered the Boston Marathon bombing trial gavel to gavel for the NBC News Investigative Unit.

Thibault’s books include Law and Justice in Everyday Life, You Thought It Was More: Adventures of the World’s Greatest Counterfeiter, Louis the Coin, with Louis Colavechio and Franz Douskey, The History of the Connecticut State Police and The 12-Minute MBA for Lawyers, with Charles Johnson.

Andy’s profiles of subjects including poets, prosecutors and defense attorneys, as well as essays on the arts, have appeared in magazines including Connecticut and Northeast. His work has appeared in the New York Post.

He served as chairman of the Connecticut Young Writers Trust, a foundation that affirmed the work of more than 8,000 teen-age poets and writers and awarded more than $215,000 in prize money. His public service includes commissioner and hearing officer for the Connecticut Freedom of Information Commission.

Andy is a professional boxing judge and was chairman of the Connecticut Boxing Promotion Commission.
