The Red & Black was established in 1893, and is a nonprofit, independent student-led news organization. We depend on donations to help fund our operations, but also reader support and an understanding of the importance of local news in order to continue serving the Athens and UGA communities with daily, reliable journalism.
We are reaching out to invite you to attend a "You talk, We listen,” a community listening event by The Red & Black at our offices at 540 Baxter Street on Thursday, Oct. 9 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Our journalists want to hear from you on how we can continue to partner with our local readers and leaders and how to better serve our community.
There will be breakout groups with the opportunity to listen and learn from each other. This event will be off the record, but it will help inform our coverage and continue to help Red & Black journalists build relationships and form story ideas.
