Ever wonder what it's like to drive a school bus? Now's your chance to sit in the driver's seat and get a feel for what it's like to serve as a school bus driver in District 49.
Free to Drive! D49 is hosting Drive a Bus Day on Saturday, June 22, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at the New D49 Transportation Center to help recruit additional caring individuals to safely transport our students to and from school during the 2023-24 school year.
You'll have a chance to take the wheel and drive a big yellow bus in the parking lot, meet some of our dedicated staff members, and if interested, start the application process.
Interested candidates must be at least 23 years old with a valid driver's license.
Enjoy Miles of Perks as a District 49 Bus Driver:
Starting pay of $21.43 per hour.
Guaranteed minimum of 5 hours per scheduled workday.
