Presented by Imogen Behan-Willett(Meanjin/Brisbane) as part of the Brisbane Improv Festival 2026.
If you find it hard to do scenes that aren’t just two people standing across from each other having a chat, this is the workshop for you.
This workshop is designed to get you more “in your body”, so that characterisation, stagecraft and object work can come easily and naturally.
The best improv is playful improv, and it’s easy to play when you’re feeling loose and relaxed on stage. In this workshop, you will learn exercises and techniques you can reuse to unlock your own physical performance.
Workshop Length: 3 hours
Recommended experience level: Beginner (less than 12 months experience)
Meet Imogen (she/her)
Imogen Behan-Willett is a Brisbane-based improviser and comedian. She has taught improv since 2023 and performed improv both interstate and internationally. Her first home is Big Fork Theatre, located in Brisbane.

About the Brisbane Improv Festival
This year’s festival will be held on the 14th - 18th of July 2026 - that’s five nights of incredible improvised shows open to the public, and we will host 14 different workshops for improvisers to expand their skills.
