A celebration of the practice and research across the Yorkshire Region.
About this Event

The Yorkshire Obesity Research Alliance (YORA) is a community of academics, clinicians, public health practitioners and policy makers, and members of the general public with an interest in obesity research within the Yorkshire area. The work of YORA is intended to directly contribute to the regions obesity practice and policy through collaboration and co-production.

We are hosting a celebration of the practice, policy and research across the Yorkshire & Humber region. The conference is free to attend and will take place on Thursday 12th September 2024 at the Rose Bowl at Leeds Beckett from 9.30am to 4.15pm. The purpose of the conference is to bring together all relevant stakeholders from across policy, practice, research and communities to share common challenges and discuss solutions to change how we empower individuals and reduce weight stigmas.

The conference will cover the topics of emotional eating, children & young persons, weight management and food insecurity & poverty, by showcasing up to date practice and research. Most importantly, it centres around the voice of lived experience, which highlights the fundamental importance of patient and public involvement in further research.

YORA currently has over 150 members from across the region, including people from universities, Local Authorities, the NHS, businesses, voluntary and community sector groups, and the public, all with an interest in obesity research.
