Join Clive for a gentle walk around the modern section of the Cemetery. This walk is part of York Walking Festival and open to all.
Discover the 1,000 UK varieties of trees in the modern section of York Cemetery. From the mighty Oak to the Giant Redwood, we also have a Ginko Biloba and a Snake Bark Maple. Discover well and lesser known trees growing in this wonderful graan space.
Led by Clive Dawson, Chair of the Friends of York Cemetery.
The guided walk starts at the Harriet Centre at 2pm. It will be approximately 1 hr and 30 mins, and is followed by tea and biscuits in the Harriet Centre.
This event is non ticketed, so just turn up on the day. Please make a donation to the Friends of York Cemetery if you can (suggested donation of £5 or £2 for Friends and children), all income supports their work in the Cemetery. There will be tea and biscuits in the Harriet Centre afterwards.
This walk is part of the programme of guided walks and events organised by the Friends every year. This is an outdoor leisurely walking tour and attendees are asked to dress accordingly. Please arrive 15 mins before the walk start to be fitted with audio kit.
