Also on the program is Brahms' 2nd Symphony; this is Brahms at his happiest. The YSO welcomes talented young violinist Nicholas Alexander Vasilakopoulos - Kostopoulos to perform the monumental Tchaikovsky violin concerto. The Brahms second symphony is sometimes referred to as the composer's "Pastoral" symphony - a reference to the music's genial, lyrical character.
