In this session, we will delve into the essential task of providing young learners, with the best possible start to their educational journey. We believe that by working collaboratively, we can create environments that foster exploration and curiosity while ensuring that students feel safe and supported throughout their learning experiences. Together, we will explore strategies for nurturing young learners’ natural inclination to explore the world around them, and we will discuss practical approaches to establish routines that facilitate learning and development.
11:10 How to make our comfort zones bigger, better and even more inspirational. / Session by Jeanne Perrett
The world changes. Education changes. In this session we will look at how we can establish meaningful and useful routines to guide our young learners through language, thinking and life skills and how we can incorporate new methodologies into our lessons. Our students need a secure learning environment in which to flourish and so do we! We want to find new inspiration and continue to grow as teachers. We don’t have to leave our comfort zones; we just have to expand them.

Η προσοχή των παιδιών και των εφήβων ήταν πάντοτε μειωμένη σε σχέση με την προσοχή ενός ενήλικα. Πλέον, λόγω χρήσης social media & internet η δυνατότητα προσοχής, ειδικά εντός μίας σχολικής αίθουσας έχει μειωθεί ακόμη περισσότερο. Σε μια εποχή που αλφαβητισμός σημαίνει εξοικείωση με εικόνες όσο και κείμενο, και η οθόνη έχει γίνει ένα νέο είδος σελίδας, οι μαθητές του 21ου αιώνα συνδέονται περισσότερο με τα μέσα από οποιαδήποτε προηγούμενη γενιά. Αυτό προσφέρει στους εκπαιδευτικούς άνευ προηγουμένου ευκαιρίες να εμπλέξουν τους μαθητές στη μάθηση για μια ποικιλία θεμάτων και ζητημάτων παγκόσμιας σημασίας.
Όταν χρησιμοποιούνται σωστά, οι ταινίες, τα τραγούδια, ακόμη και τα social media μπορούν να αποτελέσουν ένα ισχυρό εκπαιδευτικό εργαλείο για την ανάπτυξη δεξιοτήτων κριτικής σκέψης και την έκθεση σε διαφορετικές οπτικές γωνίες. Σε αυτό το διαδραστικό εργαστήρι θα μιλήσουμε για την δυναμική τ ης χρήσης αφηγηματικών μέσων στην προσπάθεια επικοινωνίας και σύνδεσης με τα παιδιά και τους νέους.
