Back by popular demand* this October half-term, it's the Great York Fossil Hunt!At 2pm on both Monday 28th and Thursday 31st of October, I'll be leading a prehistoric tour of the city of York, searching out all the places that fossils are hiding. From artistic ammonites to coral cobbles, via libraries, gardens and Roman columns, there are a surprising number.
The York family fossil hunt is suitable for all fossil-fanciers aged 3 and over, and lasts 60-90 minutes. The walk begins outside the Yorkshire Museum in York Museum Gardens, and finishes on Chapter House Street, near York Minster. The route has a small number of steps and a few cobbled streets, so is not suitable for people of restricted mobility.
