Friday, May 1st at 7:30PM
Saturday, May 2nd at 7:30PM
Sunday, May 3rd at 2PM
This dark fairytale is set in a small, fictional town in Ireland. In the middle of the square, there is a statue of a girl with a keyhole in her back. The townsfolk gather every year to take part in a strange ritual (“The Turning of the Key”). The myth is that the statue used to be alive and one day, if they keep winding her, she might come back.
The show is the story behind that legend…
We are thrilled to share this full length fairytale (think Hans Christian Andersen rather than Disney) with a broader audience! If you’ve never seen a York Drama production, you’ll be thoroughly impressed with these talented Dukes. (For families: this performance is best suited for children who can remain seated and attentive for two 60 minute acts; approx. total runtime 2h 15m.) This is a great way to see some wonderful musical theatre without the big ticket prices. $15 tickets can be purchased at yorkdrama.org.
We hope to see you at the show!
