We invite you to come and join us for our Yom Kippur Repentance Service at Spirit and Truth Fellowship (Ruach v’ Emet) on October 12th from 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM.
Yom Kippur is known as the Day of Atonement found in Leviticus 16:29-30. It is considered the holiest day of the year. It is mo’ed (appointed time or biblical festival). This solemn occasion is dedicated to repentance, reflection, and seeking reconciliation with God. The day is marked by fasting, prayer, and spirtual introspection as we seek to purify our hearts and renew our commitment to God.
What we do:
Time of Prayer: We engage in intense prayer and confession, asking for forgiveness for both personal and communal sins.
Reflection: This is a time to reflect on the past year, seek forgiveness from those we have wronged, and commit to positive changes for the year ahead.
Worship the Lord: We will have a time of worship and intercession as well.
This is a time of introspection and repentance to the Lord.
Isaiah 55:7 – “Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will freely pardon.”
1 John 1:9 – “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
Joel 2:13 – “Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the Lord your God, for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity.”
Following our service at sunset, we will break the fast together with a communal meal. This is not only to enjoy food but an opportunity to connect with one another, celebrate the joy of reconciliation, and support each other as we move forward in our walk with the Lord. Food will be provided. We warmly invite you to join us.
