Seated in a circle (around a centerpiece of snacks) we will discuss yoga philosophy and story while stretching the body. We will have a topic each class to discover, that flows naturally in and out of physical practices and intuitive discovery. Yoga is a lifelong practice that occurs off of a mat; this is for folks who have done yoga in studios... and want more. What to expect:
We will be on soft blankets. No yoga mats are needed, although there might be some blocks or occasional bolsters to support in alignment and position. We will open with a chance to nourish our bodies with some snackies, then get grounded with small movements and simple asana exercises to explore the body. The class may include other yogic techniques (kriyas, mantras, panayama etc), and will always focus on a yogic topic. You can expect to discuss things like the yamas (yogic morals and internal disciplines), or the koshas (perhaps receive a colorful handout illustrated by Rae!), or possibly, contemplate how we can embody the loyalty of Hanuman in each of our daily lives.
While learning, we will be doing. But the best part is... there will be snacks!

Led by Rae Solvig
Rae is no expert however she is and will always be a forever student! Rae started her journey in yoga teacher training in 2016 and after teaching for 4 years craved more! She has dove into yoga and the understanding of all the beautiful paths like Bhakti yoga and Jnana yoga! The desire to explore and dive into a spiritual journey has taken her all over. Rae has taken her 200hr teacher training now 3 times. Every time she learned one thing it was a drive to learn more. So naturally reading the Ramayana just led to more questions. Reading it for the 25th time questions still remain but learning life’s lessons and understanding how to use the Ramayana as a guidebook (rather than simply a story) is so important on this spiritual journey.
You may have seen her at Thursday night kirtan where she leads songs and brings treats... as she is our resident baked goods goddess.
