Imperial Calcasieu Museum | Beneath the Historic Sallier Oak
Free and open to the public
There is something especially lovely about an October morning beneath the Sallier Oak. The air is a little softer, the mornings invite us to linger, and the season brings with it a gentle reminder to slow down and savor the moment.
Join Maegan Gonzales for a cozy morning of Yoga Under the Oak. This practice focuses primarily on conscious breathing in postures intended to relax the body and engage the mind. Beneath the sweeping branches of the historic Oak, we’ll take time to breathe deeply, stretch gently, and settle into the peaceful rhythm of an autumn morning.
For nearly eight years, Maegan has had the opportunity to share this fundamental life practice beneath the majestic Sallier Oak. She is continually grateful to guide others in this space as a means of connection to nature, oneself, and the community.
What to Bring:
Bring your own yoga mat, blanket, or towel and dress comfortably for a morning outdoors. As the October air settles around us, you may find yourself wanting an extra layer for the beginning of class. And when you’re ready, dig your toes into the ground and enjoy the simple pleasure of practicing beneath the Oak.
