Yoga Nidra Soundscape
The Yoga Of Sleep & Healing Sound Spa. Great if lacking in sleep/ energy or suffering from stress & chronic pain
About this Event

Yoga Nidra & Sound Healing

Great For Stress, Burnout, Sleep Deprivation, Emotional Overwhelm, Menopausal Or/ & Physical Pain.

I suggest you don’t think of this as ‘Yoga’ because when one does, we usually think of distorting the body into all matter of shapes. Whereas in this, all you are going to do is lie down and receive.

This is why this type of Yoga is indeed for everyone since it requires no movement, prior knowledge, physical strength or flexibility, which is why its name translates to mean ‘The Yoga of Sleep’, Dream and/ or the Psyche.

  • If you have trouble sleeping?
  • Are you suffering from stress or anxiety?
  • Or chronic pain or suffering from an injury?
  • & have you tried meditating to calm your mind, self-discovery, or general well-being?
  • Have a desire to improve your memory?
  • Or unleash your creative self or have a problem that needs resolving, but no ideas have come up yet?

Then you will enjoy sleep yoga.

Benefits

In 20 Minutes, this practice will give you the equivalent of 2 hours of sleep.

So you will arise feeling refreshed, calm and balanced, with a new outlook. This element of detachment enables you to see things more clearly.

Since the right and left hemispheres of your brain will meet, which is how fresh ideas and the ability to resolve challenges may come to mind.

In Yoga Nidra, you’ll experience a state known as the witness self, whereby your awareness is suspended between the stages of dream and sleep. This is why you will feel like been;

  • On a little holiday, in a restful state, a place away from your daily problems while solving them.
  • Had a massage
  • Or been in a hydrotherapy/ flotation tank

Each session consists of 20 minutes and a sound bath to enhance the theme of the Nidra (dream state), which is one of the reasons it’s called a soundscape. Plus an opportunity to meet others and share the experience on your journey if you wish.

When you come back, you are renewed, and your body is renewed on a cellular level. Many feel energised afterwards, yet grounded. Muscles soften, giving you the same results as a massage but lighter. Some would say it’s more profound because the effects of sound healing will transmit and vibrate within you, for days, with the ability to heal old wounds and change behavioural reactions patterns.

Sound Healing

In my repertoire, you will hear different sounds, such, as singing bowls, percussion instruments, and the naked voice. These musical instruments will be used as sound effects to enhance the theme of the Nidra and to aid healing.

Sound Healing is a growing phenomenon you don’t have to believe in to receive its effects. Just sit back and enjoy!

My Work

My Yoga Nidras are rarely abstract. I tend to be inspired by the calendar year we live by, seasons, festive holidays, healing techniques,  the lives of others I meet as a health practitioner.

Hence you will experience a movement of mental lucidity between a dream/ sleep state of awareness.

Type Of Tickets Available

I run two sessions, back to back. They are different yet related. So the first may act as an entry point to session two. Ether by the theme or because it focuses more on relaxing the body. Once the body has been looked after, we can address other parts of the ‘self’.

How To Enter & Leave

Suppose you've chosen to attend the first session only. Arrive 15 mins before the start of the event. So you can make your nest and settle into your environment. Please neatly leave any items you’ve borrowed in a pile when you leave.

Whereas, attendees of the second session should arrive promptly on time, as stated on the ticket, because the doorbell is loud, and there may not be anyone present to let you in until the first hour has passed.

If you intend on joining the group for the 2nd session ONLY, please wait quietly outside the room or the centre. I will let you in when it is time. Do not talk as you enter the room to avoid disturbing others transitioning back to a wakeful state.

Equipment

This is a fully equipped venue, but for your comfort & covid protection, you may wish to bring your Yoga or camping mat or a single sheet. So you can place it on top of the cushioned mats available on the day. Please also bring a blanket and/ or any pillows and cushions you wish to bring for your comfort and emotional security. The more comfortable you are, the deeper your experience will be.

Tips

Due to the pandemic, nibbles are no longer offered. However, I advise that you bring a piece of fruit, chocolate, nuts or oat bars. Something to eat. To help ground you before you leave. So you can make a safe trip home.

Caution

Please arrive on time so you may be admitted without a problem. Some Nidras can induce out-of-body sensations, so if you suffer from a mental health condition of disassociation, I do not advise the practice of Yoga Nidra.

Transport

Please check parking restrictions before leaving your vehicle and be mindful not to block anyone.

Refunds policy

If you or a member of your household contract the virus, simply email/ msg me, and don't forget to include the positive PCR test result, to qualify for a refund. If you are sick or can't make it, your ticket can be transferred (to another person) or next month’s event if you let me know well ahead of time.
