A TRAUMA-INCLUSIVE APPROACH TO YOGA NIDRA
?Explore the transformative practice of yoga nidra in a small group setting.
?Learn to guide your students into a state of deep relaxation for both body and mind in a trauma-sensitive manner, and develop your own personal practice.
?Understand the physiological responses to deep relaxation, meditation and sleep
?Discover the history and yogic principles underpinning the practice
?Get familiar with matters of trauma-awareness and how they are applied to yoga nidra
?Unpick the intentions and practice of yoga nidra from a somatic perspective
?Learn the teaching techniques to structure, script and deliver a trauma-aware yoga nidra session

This course is designed for teachers with an existing 200 hour yoga teacher training certificate. The content assumes you have some experience in anatomy and physiology, class planning and teaching methodologies.

UNIT 1 ANATOMY & PHYSIOLOGY
A focus on the neuroscience of relaxation, sleep and meditation, including trauma awareness.
UNIT 2 SUBTLE ANATOMY
The Kosha/Panca Maya model will be explored theoretically and in embodied explorations.
UNIT 3 HISTORY & PHILOSOPHY
The philosophical underpinnings of the practice of Yoga Nidra, its history and contemporary threads.
UNIT 4 PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE
How to craft a script and deliver a trauma-aware practice. Teaching techniques and methodologies.
DATES & VENUE
Three days of studio contact time: 25-27 November, 2022.
Our venue will be our CAMYOGA Central Studio, which is located close to rail and bus routes, on-street (paid) parking and has space for bicycles.
All mats and props are provided, but please feel free to bring along your own kit. It can be stowed in the studio overnight.

STUDY & ASSESSMENT
STUDY
?6 hours of pre-course study including reading and self-reflection assignments. This ensures everyone arrives primed and well prepared
?12 hours of post-course study to complete assessed assignments
ASSESSMENT
Assessment includes:
?Submission of an audio recorded yoga nidra practice for feedback on criteria including structure, suitability of content, and inclusivity
?Self-practice journal
MATERIALS
4 weeks prior to the start date, you'll receive the Course Manual and a Resource List
You'll need access to a computer, internet, audio recording device (eg. on your phone), printer, and stationery. Mats and props are provided on training days.
FEES & PAYMENT
Full course fees are £330 and Early Bird option (£295) available until 30 September 2022.
