Be your own Valentine 15th February 2025 ReBalance Bath
The Gainsborough Bath Spa hotel is delighted to share a morning of self-care in The Chapel, nestled into the beautiful walls of the Hotel. This two-hour yoga event is suitable for all abilities, led by expert practitioners Bex Bridgford and Lana King.
Be your own Valentine this year, and give yourself the invaluable gifts of time, quietness, reflection and self-awareness.
In this very special workshop, the focus will be placed on self-awareness techniques, including Yoga, soothing movement, sound, an introduction to EFT (tapping) and you will leave with tips to take home, encouraging continued self-care.
The practice will combine a flowing yoga sequence, an introduction to EFT, lead and free movement, before eventually sinking into a soft and supportive Yin Yoga practice and finishing with a crystal bowl sound bath.
This is going to be a session where you will be invited to put yourself first, and really listen to what your body needs. With the intention to encourage and offer you a better understanding of how self-care moments can be carried through into your everyday lives
About EFT -
Introduction to EFT - Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), often called “tapping,” is a therapeutic method that combines elements of psychotherapy and acupressure. It involves tapping on specific acupressure points on your body while focusing on uncomfortable emotions, memories, or physical pain. The idea is to help clear negative emotions and energy, promoting relaxation and healing.
We will introduce EFT and show how you can self-apply this amazing technique on a wide range of issues like anxiety, stress, trauma, and even physical pain. It’s a simple yet powerful way to balance the mind and body.

The Gainsborough Bath Spa
The Gainsborough Bath Spa occupies two Grade II Listed buildings with distinguished Georgian and Victorian façades in the heart of the World Heritage Site. Named after the artist, Sir Thomas Gainsborough, the luxury hotel is centred around and, uniquely in the UK, has the exclusive privilege of having access to the natural thermal, mineral-rich waters.
- 1730 – The original building resided Dr Charles Bave, an early proposer of the Bath General Hospital.
- 1747 – 1786 – The Lower Borough Walls of the building became the Casualty Hospital and Bath City Infirmary and Dispensary
- 1826 – The two establishments are combined by architect John Pitch, to become the United Hospital, with an entrance on Beau Street. A small chapel is designed by G.P. Manners
- 1863 – 1864 – The original building is extended and the Albert Wing was added by architect J. E. Gill. The hospital is granted the ‘Royal’ prefix and buildings on Lower Borough Walls, including the Medical Officers Residence (The Old House), the ‘Dissecting Room’, and the ‘Dead House’ are connected by a walkway to the Royal United Hospital (RUH)
- 1932 – A new RUH is opened in Coombe Park, Bath to replace the buildings on Lower Borough Walls. Bath Technical College occupies the Beau Street buildings until 2005.
- 2006 – Planning permission is sought for a new 97-bedroom Spa Hotel by the Bath Hotel and Spa Company - a joint venture of the Trevor Osbourne Property Group and CP Holdings Ltd. The development is designed to restore another aspect of Bath’s Spa Culture in the heart of the City’s historic Spa Quarter. The Hotel is named after Sir Thomas Gainsborough, the famed portrait and landscape artist who lived in Bath between 1759 and 1774.
