Join Kelly and Tara for Yoga HikeWeather permitting......
Kelly will lead us in a 3-4 mile hike around Sand Creek. Following our hike, we will end with a guided Gentle Yoga practice.
Tara is a Certified Yoga Therapist who recently found a love for hiking with her friend Kelly who will lead us on the hiking portion. She owns YOGA hOMe Studio and Ayurveda Centre and loves to help people feel their best!
Kelly Naschert grew up along the Illinois River Valley in Peoria, IL. It was there, over 30 years ago, where she fell in love with nature. Hikes that began as a child, exploring creeks and undeveloped woods blocks from home, easily expanded to Peoria's parks and trails. Forest Park Nature Center is a sentimental favorite where as a very young daughter she completed loops with her dad as he identified trees.
All the while another passion was growing... running. What is better than to combine the two? So, long before hearing the phrase "trail running" she found Cross Country. As she gained independence hiking trails further from home was a natural progression. Jubilee State Park later became a place for logging many "trail running" miles. While Matthiessen State Park helped to calm and center her soul.
Over the last decade she has hiked across various landscapes of this beautiful Country. Hiking allows her to be with herself, to reflect, to discover what is important and value what she has. Five years ago she discovered another experience to connect with nature and herself... backpacking. Her running still continues happily on trails. Kelly is always taking advantage of the trail less traveled, yet never taking for granted the time and resources needed for an enriched life.
We are both health enthusiasts and enjoy life to it's fullest!
Participants must be in good enough health for a walk and Yoga.
Bring your own water and yoga mat!
