A workshop to build bone density and improve balance

Did you know that adults over age 50 and women after menopause experience accelerated bone loss? And 10 million Americans have osteoporosis and 44 million more have low bone density. These age-related changes increase our chances of a life-altering bone fracture.

But there is good news! Osteoporosis can be prevented and for those living with osteopenia or osteoporosis, the progression can be slowed by the following practices:
*Specific weight-bearing exercises that build bone density and muscle strength
*Stress reduction
*Improved balance to reduce falls
*Diet and other lifestyle changes

Join yoga therapist and Ahimsa Yoga teacher Cassie Quick for this 90 minute workshop where you will learn:
*A sequence of 12 yoga postures that are medically proven to increase bone density
*Fundamentals of improving balance
*Effective use of props to support your practice and your progress
*Safer ways to move in and out of poses
*Relaxation techniques for stress management (excess cortisol accelerates bone loss)
You do not need an osteoporosis diagnosis to attend this workshop. It is open to anyone looking to build bone density and to improve balance.

About our presenter:
Cassie Quick has been teaching yoga since 2015 and is a 500 CYT with additional certifications in psychologically sensitive yoga and kids yoga. She is a busy mom of three with two fur babies. She came to yoga seeking physical, emotional, and spiritual health after 40.
When not on her mat teaching or practicing yoga, Cassie enjoys playing in the great outdoors (traveling, hiking, biking, paddle board yoga!) and volunteering as a dog walker at a local humane society. She also teaches yoga to the incarcerated at Cook County Jail. Cassie believes that yoga is for everybody and every BODY and would love to practice with you soon!
