This fall, Bett Bollhoefer, yoga teacher based in East Oakland, will be teaching creative yoga, movement, and mindfulness to school-aged children (best for 4 or 5 to 11). Bett brings her deep knowledge of how to adapt yoga to different bodies and ages, and incorporating mindfulness and meditation.
For children, the class will be all about flexibility, body awareness, focus, fun, and exercise. Each pose or movement will be short and easy to learn. (See also her Chair Yoga series for adults at Eastmont.)
Instructor's bio: Most recently in the tech world, Bett prepared to change her direction in life by following in her mother’s footsteps, studying with her mom's favorite yoga teacher, Kia Miller. She received her certification in Radiant Body Yoga. She creates yoga-based wellness experiences born out of her own daily practice, melding wisdom gleaned from different yoga modalities with the modern science of health.
She writes: "When you leave my class you feel better-- empowered, calm, ready to take on new challenges!" She teaches online and at several studios locally, as well as a Community Yoga class in the neighborhood.
