Yoga for Back Care 5 Week Series, is a Therapeutic Yoga class moving at a slow and gentle pace, designed for individuals with back concerns as well as great for those simply wishing to strengthen and nourish their spine and experience a class that is based in breath and core awareness. Each week highlights a different subtle body energetic region (Vayu), exploring the subtle and gross anatomy in reference to holistic back health. Foundational core work, deep relaxation, in-depth meditations and breathing practices can be expected in this class. Weekly homework and sample take home practices included!

More about the instructor, Laura!
Laura is a Yoga Therapist and licensed Physical Therapist Assistant with a caring and approachable demeanor, whose passion is helping people connect with themselves, their bodies, their intuition and their healing and higher potential through the multidimensional tools of yoga.
Along with her therapeutic expertise, she brings over 20 years of yoga teaching experience to her students plus many more years of personal practice and study. Most notably she studied in depth with the late master TKV Desikachar in her Yoga Therapy Training in Chennai, India. She is honored to bring the healing practices learned from him, to her community. Sarah Powers, Scott Blossom, Donna Farhi and Peter Sterios are amongst other strong influences.
Laura offers classes, workshops, private sessions and retreats locally. She offers a wide variety of classes based in breath, subtle body and core awareness. They are meditative and move at a slow pace, allowing time to explore safe alignment, the somatic embodiment of foundational postures, and connection with ones most authentic true self. Having a background in music she has started integrating sound and singing into some specialty classes as well as monthly Song Circles at Bliss Cafe. Her offerings have been reported to lead students into a deeper listening, connecting with their own body wisdom, healing and heart.
When she is not immersed in the yoga and healing worlds, she can be found having adventures with her husband and two young daughters, dancing (always dancing), enjoying a quiet hike somewhere awe inspiring, or singing in her upbeat band Sōleffect.
